Mic Check a One Two a One Two

Is anybody like me that when they see one of these
they have to check their blood pressure?  Every time I'm in a drug store or super market and I see a blood pressure machine I have the sudden urge to take my left arm out of my coat and stick in it the cuff and get my Systolic over Diastolic.  Tonight on our way back from Whit's class we made our daily CVS stop and we both had the urge to check our blood pressure.  So we did and it turns out we are not going to die anytime soon. Wahoo!

Hope for the Unemployed

Today started like most others, Mike and I tossing and turning before finally deciding to get out of bed. Then finally rolling out of bed around 11 AM. Only the rest of the day was different.

Today was....

FREE CHIPOTLE BURRITO DAY!

Mike and I were so excited to cash in on our favorite burritos for FREE today while the new Chipotle opened down the street. While in line they had Chipotle peeps giving out shirts, magnets, etc. Some people had to freestyle rap about Chipotle for the shirts, some had to answer Chipotle trivia, but Mike and I got our shirts for doing real work...actually scratch that, NO work. That's right. We got the t-shirt lady to come talk to us after I told her you wouldn't find bigger Chipotle fans in the line. She asked if we lived or worked around the area, and I smirked and said we lived in the area (both Mike and I had super greasy hair, it was day 2 of no shower and we had just rolled out of bed 20 mins prior). She asked if we were playing hookey from work, we looked at each other and laughed and told her we were both unemployed. Then she gave us a T-shirt, just like that. We then told her we just got married and she gave us a hug. Then she preceeded to tell everyone we were newlyweds, and she didnt mention the fact that we were unemployed. HAH. We only had to wait 30 mins for a delicious FREE burrito and we even got the guacamole for free. It was grrrrreat. And we got tickets for Quantum of Solace for tomorrow afternoon. Woop!

Anyway it was awesome. Other than that the rest of the day was pretty boring...med school apps, laundry, internship paperwork, internship work, powdered sugar run to make whipped cream, pumpkin pie and whipped cream for dinner, the office, 30 rock, its always sunny in philadelphia, and the pats game. We also decided to be risky and sit on our couch which we havent done for a week after we got sprayed for a second time for bed bugs. Woo hoo! No bites yet...(knock on wood).

In Flanders Field the poppies grow...

I don't know what it is about World War II that fascinates me so much.  I love reading books about it (I just finished D Day by Stephen Ambrose and now I'm reading his other book Citizen Soldier soon to be followed by Band of Brothers),  I love watching movies about it and of course I love watching shows about it. Thank you history channel.
Even though today is Veterans Day and it's more about World War I than it is about World War II I felt it was appropriate to celebrate today buy buying Band of Brothers on Blu-ray! I might add that it was originally $75  but it was on sale at Best Buy since it was a new release and we had a coupon for $20 bucks off so we ended up getting it for $30 bucks.  That's less than the DVD set costs at Costco. Woot! So I want to thank Best Buy for helping us celebrate Veterans Day.

CVS and other perks of living in the city

I have to say, as much as I like Rich, I'm very glad that he has been replaced. Sorry, Rich. Good thing Mike is being replaced as well. I just wanted to post something on here to show that Mike and I will be equal posting.

One thing that is great about our apartment is its proximity to CVS. It has been very handy for late night runs for strawberry frozen fruit bars, ben and jerry's ice cream, nyquil and 1/2 off halloween candy. It's also been good for cleaning supplies, cases and cases of diet coke and dr. pepper, milk, cereal, hangers, swiffers, and quarters for laundry. Hip hip for CVS!

The other great thing about our apartment is it is down the street from the movie theater. We had a nice 10 min walk to the theater last night to see Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist (quite charming and a lot better than suspected). On the way there I saw a huge glowing sign down the strett and gasped. Mike thought something had gone terribly wrong, but alas, it was not so! The huge glowing sign was non other than that for CHIPOTLE, housing the most addicting burritos on the planet. I am a burrito afficiando and I love other burritos for sure, but for some reason ever since this summer I constantly crave a chicken burrito from Chipotle with black beans, cilantro-lime rice, cheese, medium corn salsa and medium red salsa and a side of guacamole. I don't understand what they put in their burritos, but I'm hooked. The funny thing is I've had chipotle plenty of times before this summer and I always liked them, but not like this. I am so excited it will be 5 mins away, although I'm sure my diet will now consist of burritos and cadbury mini christmas eggs. Oh! and diet coke, of course. Hip Hip for Chipotle!

The Gang Sells Out

Yes yes I know all you single friends of mine are looking at me like I can't believe Mike sold out and became one of those snooty married people, well get over it.  I'm now a snooty married person and I like it!
Some of you have been asking if we were going to have a conjugal (compliments of Stephen Wood) blog and in answer to your queries here it is.  I'm going to point out though that our blog will not be like those typical married people blogs where it is just the wife who post.  Also you won't be seeing any of those lame posts like "This weekend we took a trip to blah blah blah no one cares."  Our blog is going to be off the hook with our rad random wacky adventures and such.  So welcome and enjoy!
