After much prodding

Came the blog post.

Although I think Mike's posts are funnier, here's an attempt to bring you up to speed. Where to start?

Well the first bit of news is that we got a cat. This isn't your basic run of the mill crazy hissing cat. Born in Austria (no joke) this cat came with a pedigree chart and the most beautiful coat I have ever seen. He has the sweetest temperament and he will grow to be around 22 pounds. He is only 9 months old and already 14.5. I know most of you aren't cat people, but Sebastian is a special one that might just change your mind. He is a pure-bred Maine Coon and he acts more like a dog than a cat. We have had so much fun with him the past couple of months.

I would be lying if I didn't tell you that I am slightly obsessed with this cat. His new trick is to chase a laser pointer dot around the whole apartment. It is quite hysterical.

Our iPhones are full of cat pictures. I guess you really could call this parent training, just on a much smaller scale.

Second bit of news is that I passed the California bar. It was such a relief and to celebrate we went to an asian fusion restaurant with my mom and gary in Redwood City and then off to Wolverine, which we liked, but not as much as Star Trek.

Third bit of news is that I have a real grown up job. I have a lot of Office Space moments and I sometimes have to eat cookies to keep me sane. It's a hard transition as I knew it would be, but I do get to do interesting things and they aren't working me to hard with the slow economy which is nice so I can ease in to it.

Fourth bit of news is that Mike and I need to take more pictures of other things besides our cat. I was asking Mike if we had any other pictures of things we've done...the answer is no, not really. So here are some oldies but goodies.

That's all for now...more to come. And we'll be better, I promise.

So so so

I think y'all should follow Mike and I on twitter. I joined a couple months ago and I have started to become addicted. I barely update my status anymore on facebook -- plus the new setup is lame.

My friend @NatAttack just blogged about this, but I agree with her, twittering is more fun than blogging (sometimes). No worries, we will keep updating this, but Mike's and I's tweets are pretty entertaining if we do say so ourselves.

@wlau and @mwlau

How easy is that to remember?

Mikey made the bed today. You can show Ricky this picture to show him how a proper bed should look.

TV Guide

First off sorry for my absence from the blog I've been pretty busy being Mr mom.  Second my wife is awesome.  I say that for the reason that she's so much fun and spontaneous.  For instance we were walking to the grocery store the other day to find some lunch and she decides she wants to walk like a robot.  Here's the proof.
It really is never a dull moment with her.

And finally on to the blog post...

Back in the single years I really wasn't one for too much television.  I mean I'd watch my sports but other than that I never had a TV schedule per say.  I'd never had to be home to make sure I'd catch a show.  If I missed it oh well.  Now that I'm married I've been introduced to scheduled TV watching.  We have our weekly shows that we watch and we never miss them thanks to our little DVR.  Ever since the fall I've been introduced to the lives of the upper east side students, Coach Taylor and the Dillon Panthers, fashion guru Tim Gunn, Simon, Paula, Randy, Kara, and a girl that works for Diane Von Furstenburg (I actually don't watch the City it's the only show I can't stand).  Now the manly part of me says that this is just so I can spend time with the girl I love but deep down I'm starting to get into the shows even though I'll never admit this to Whitney (I guess I just did).

I want to know what's going to happen to Chuck Bass next.  I want certain people cut from Project Runway because they suck at fashion. I want Tim Riggins to go to college. Also the judges on American Idol are idiots and don't know what real talent is. Five years ago I'd never even known who Tim Gunn was let alone watch a show that he hosts.  I'm slowly getting sucked into a weekly TV habit and I think I'm kinda starting to like it.

XOXO

Knock-Off

I was watching DVF's pre-spring/resort runway show last week while "studying". No, really I was though, listening to a lecture while watching pretty dresses...but anyway, I saw two pieces that I either a) must buy b) must find a knock-off for or c) must be Whitney Port so I may own them.

Emette Dress in Navy

Carnita Skirt in Multi Stripe

Any internet saavy people or fashionistas want to try and find knock-offs for these? I may have to eat mac n cheese to buy them if not.

Typical

Here I go, eating my words about going underground. A girl needs a break from bar studying, right? And I've been hassling Mike to blog and he refuses. That and he's been busy reading all of the Harry Potters for the first time. He's totally sucked into number 6, so much so that he stole it from me to read it. For shame!

Anyway, the other day I was looking on fandango dreaming about going to a movie instead of studying contracts. I saw they had a nice little feature about the top 50 most anticipated movies for 2009 (which btw most of them looked like crap). I was just scrolling through the pictures and short synopses when I got to X-Men: Wolverine and it mentioned that Taylor Kitsch was going to be Gambit in the movie.

I hurriedly exclaimed, "Riggins is going to be Gambit!"

Mike: "What? When?"

"In the new X-Men movie about Wolverine coming out this summer".

"Yeah, I dont know how I feel about that...Riggins?"

"Whatever, he's going to be awesome!" (I can't deny my love for Riggins)

"Gambit was a Cajun. He was also a self-proclaimed ladies man. I just can't see Riggins pulling that off"

"So not true! All he has to do is mumble and throw cards and be a gambler. And he liked Rogue, right? Cajun? What is a Cajun?"

"Gambit was from Louisiana and really proud of his heritage."

"No he was not! I remember because I was totally in love with cartoon Gambit"

"Gambit was my favorite too but I remember this correctly."

"Okay fine I'll wikipedia it. [Searching wikipedia] Uhh...."

"What does it say?"

"As the X-Men's self-described ladies man, Gambit has shown a more vulnerable side of himself over the years, especially when it comes to Rogue. Gambit remains fiercely proud of his Louisiana heritage, and speaks in a very thick, Cajun accent."

Mike then laughed. And I then laughed.

Typical.

PS if you don't know who Riggins is, please please watch Friday Night Lights, the TV show. It's glorious.

Trouble

This is what happens Saturday morning when you have to wake up at 815 am to go to a class that is really boring and makes you want to poke your eyes out (real property).

You look ridiculous with a dark chocolate sprinkles cupcake sitting in front of you. And then magically half of it disappears at the first break because you went off into a corner to scarf it down and then had to wipe the chocolate frosting off your face. Can you blame me?

Underground

I'm going underground for a while. It has to do with this evil evil thing called the California Bar Exam. 3 days of misery are upon me at the end of February and I have to know a lot of law that I sure didn't learn in law school. (Not necessarily my fault, law school doesn't teach for the bar exam and well, you know, I didn't do any reading in law school anyway...)

My days consist of getting up at 8:10, cursing the clock 5 times, going to class for 3 1/2 hours, driving back and snuggling with Mike, scrounging up something for lunch, and then study, study, study. I have been reading blogs just to keep me sane. (That may have to stop soon....)

Anyway, I just wanted to let you know you won't be hearing from me in a while. I turn the blog over to Mike (who also needs to work on the formatting, I totally apologize, but I just think this blog is looking ugly). So don't judge a blog by its layout, the content will still be good, I promise.

Proof

Remember this post? (The last paragraph)

My friend sent me the proof this morning.

Still funny.
